A/Prof. John Frew is a distinguished fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He earned his medical degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2009. Pursuing further specialisation, he completed a Masters of Medicine in clinical epidemiology at the University of Sydney in 2011. His dermatology specialist training was completed in 2016, followed by a PhD from Flinders University.
Dr. Frew's academic journey continued with a post-doctoral fellowship at Rockefeller University in New York City from 2018 to 2020, under the mentorship of Professor James Krueger. During this fellowship, he focused on identifying immunological pathways and developing novel therapies for Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
Currently, Dr. Frew holds a staff specialist position at Liverpool Hospital. He also serves as a conjoint associate professor at the University of New South Wales, where he supervises dermatology trainees and postgraduate research students. His contributions to dermatology, particularly in the field of Hidradenitis Suppurativa, highlight his commitment to advancing medical research and education.

Biography
Professor Pablo Fernández-Peñas, leads the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Group, is a Professor at the University of Sydney, Head of Dermatology at Westmead Hospital, and Director of the Centre for Translational Skin Research. As NSW Lead for the ACRF Centre, he co-heads the Discipline of Dermatology. He established the Dermatology Comprehensive Clinical Centre, addressing severe skin conditions. He Initiated the Dermatology Clinical Trials and Research Unit and is actively engaged in over 50 trials covering melanoma, skin cancer, lymphoma, hidradenitis, and psoriasis. His diverse interests span oncodermatology, immunology, quality of life, and information technologies, A devoted teacher and researcher, Professor Fernández-Peñas is committed to advancing the field of dermatology.
